This Universal Geneve, is a solid gold version of the Polerouter designed by the famous watchdesigner Gerald Genta. Genta is mostly known for designing watches like the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, or the Patek Philippe Nautilus.
The movement
The reason this watch is adored amongst collectors is because of its unusual movement. Not only are the edges chamfered with great precision, but it is also a super thin automatic movement. They achieved this by introducing a so-called “microtor” which is a small oscillating rotor inside of the movement instead of on the top of it.
